Configuring Mac 7.5 for Internet Access to CTC Open MacTCP from your control panel. Make sure that the PPP icon is the one that is highlighted. Click on the button that says More. Set Obtain Address to Manual. Skip the large set of options on the top right hand corner. Fill in the Gateway Address. This will go in the field labeled Gateway Address. That address is:
Fill in the Domain Name Server information: The first column, labeled Domain, will contain the following information: In the first row, place ctcweb.net, and in the second and third rows, place a single period in each. The second column, labeled IP address, will contain the following information: In the second column, place the following numbers in, in order, from the top to bottom row: 137.118.1.32 and 137.118.1.33 Set Obtain Address back to Server. MacTCP is now configured. Close MacTCP and open ConfigPPP from the Control Panel. Unless otherwise specified, leave all options at their defaults. Click on the New button. Type in ctcweb and press Return. Click on the Config button. Set your modem speed. If your modem and cable support "hardware flow control," set Flow Control to "CTS & RTS". If in doubt, or if this does not work, set Flow Control to None.
Enter the CTCweb dial-up phone number for your city:
Click the Authentication button. Entger your login name and password. Click Done. Any setting that is not covered should remain at the default setting. |

Configuring Mac 10 Have computer and modem on. Click the Apple icon located on teh menu bar in the upper left cornerof your desktop. Choose "System Preferences" from the pop-up list. Click on the Network control panel. From th e"Location" pop-up list, select "New Location." In the Name Your New Location field, type your ISP's name (CTCWeb) and click OK. From the Configure pop-up list in the top portion of the Control Panel, select "Internal Modem." Click the Modem tab. From the Modem pop-up list, select the name of your modem. Many internal modems on newer Macs are listed as "Apple Internal 56K Modem (v. 90)". Continue with the instructions in the next section for setting up modem Internet access and configuring the TCP/IP. Setting Up A Modem To Access The Internet And Configuring TCP/IP Click the PPP tab. Type the telephone number for your Internet connection in the Telephone Number field:
Type your ID in the Account Name field and your password in the Password field. Click the TCP/IP tab. In the Domain Name Servers field, type your ISP's domain address: 137.118.1.32 Type your ISP's domain name in the Search Domains field. Put ctcweb.net in the field. Click Save. Choose Quit System Prefs from the System Prefs menu. To connect: To disconnect, click the minimized Internet Connect icon on the dock. Click Disconnect.
